Student Spotlight:

Charlie Osborn

Everybody knows Charlie. He has a big personality and is not shy at all. Charlie has a twin brother, Philip. We have always had the same expectations for both of them – work hard and do your best at anything you try. Charlie has always worked hard at everything he has tried.

Before the boys started kindergarten, we learned about the St. Anthony School Program and were intrigued that Charlie could continue his education after high school. We are not Catholic and we weren’t considering a Catholic education. The closer the boys got to the age of attending school, the more we started considering all options. We were concerned that even with his personality, he would get lost in the shuffle. We wanted him to be pushed in his education and not just moved along with the other kids. We decided to put him in a program where he would be the main focus.

Needless to say, Charlie has not gotten lost in the shuffle. He has been a part of the St. Anthony School Programs for eleven years now. He is a sophomore at Serra Catholic High School. Throughout his education, the staff of St. Anthony’s, Mary of Nazareth and Serra have pushed him to be his best. He has excelled. Charlie takes art class, chemistry, literature, religion, and history in the regular classroom. He was even named student of the month in November for his chemistry class! The students at Serra have embraced Charlie. He is a member of the bowling team and recently had his highest score. He is one of the biggest, if not the loudest, basketball fans of the Eagles and rarely misses a game.

The staff shares our goal for Charlie to work hard and to do his best at everything he tries. We feel very fortunate to be a part of St. Anthony’s. And if you don’t know Charlie yet, it is only a matter of time…..
