Staff Spotlight:

Nick Tisak

I am happy and excited to have been named as the Program Supervisor for St. Anthony School Programs.  I am committed to Catholic education and I promise to do my best to assist in providing St. Anthony students the best total educational experience possible.

I am a lifelong resident of Beaver County and I currently live in Economy Borough with my wife, Joanne.  We are members of Good Samaritan Parish in Ambridge and we are looking forward to being active in our new parish grouping which includes Good Samaritan, Saints John, and Paul, Saint John the Baptist and Our Lady of Peace.

My wife and I are the proud parents of four children.  My daughter Nicole and her husband, John, have been blessed with our 3-year-old granddaughter, Ava Marie.  My sons Joseph, James, and Joshua are busy chasing their dreams and establishing themselves in their chosen careers.

I am a graduate of Quigley High School and I earned my post-secondary degrees and credentials from the Pennsylvania State University, Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pittsburgh.  I’ve also taken classes and participated in trainings that allowed me to keep up with current trends in education and topics relevant to the well-being of the latest generation of students.

Before coming to St. Anthony’s I most recently served as the principal of Sister Thea Bowman Catholic Academy in Wilkinsburg and prior to that I was a vice-principal at North Catholic High School in Cranberry Township.  In addition to serving the aforementioned Catholic schools I, worked as a teacher and assistant principal at the Ambridge Area High School and as the principal of the Ambridge Area School District’s Highland Elementary School. Before being hired by the Ambridge Area School District, I served the Court of Common Pleas of Beaver County as a juvenile probation officer.

While working as a teacher, I was active in promoting the inclusion effort while supporting students with complex needs.  As a school administrator, I enhanced my knowledge of special education while supporting, facilitating, and managing autistic support and life skills classrooms.  As a parent of a child who required an IEP, I was truly vested in the special education process. And, as a result of my education and experiences, I did my utmost to make sure every child who learned differently was given the best inclusive educational services possible.

You can be assured that I will do my best to serve the needs of our students, and I sincerely look forward to working with the students, teachers, staff and families served by all the services provided by St. Anthony School Programs.  I consider myself as being blessed to be joining the St. Anthony’s team. Please keep me in your prayers knowing that I will keep you all in mine.
