What I enjoy most about my job?

Providing a positive learning environment for my students

Favorite classroom memory:

At home one school year, I daily taped parts of the morning news. The weather and human interest stories were typical topics. Each day, in school, the children and I would watch and discuss the tape. This provided opportunities for vocabulary and language development as well as a recall of what they had seen on TV. On my birthday, we were following the regular morning routine. When it came time to watch the tape, Mrs. Shamrock and Mrs. Vandall distracted me and put in a different tape. When I turned on the VCR, I was surprised with a "Birthday News Cast" that the children put together with the help of Mrs. Vandall and Mrs. Shamrock. The human interest story for the day was birthday wishes from my students. For many years, these children frequently watched the video, delighted to see themselves on TV. They are all adults now. But every year around my birthday, I watch the tape, marveling at what fine young adults they have all become.

How I spend my free time:

Reading, spending time with my family at their various sports activities.

Values that mean the most to me:

Hard Work and Dedication
